20s/30s

Folks in their 20s and 30s gather about once a month to do something fun, including cooking dinner together, game nights, movies, and more. For more information contact church@sprchicago.org.

PAST EVENTS:

Virtual Reading Group: In January and February, the 20s/30s group read the Wholehearted Faith by Rachel Held Evans and Jeff Chu.

Pub Trivia: The 20s/30s group met in December for an evening of fellowship over pub trivia in River North.

Hyde Park Racial Justice History Walking Tour: This tour is to connect residents with our neighborhood's' stories of black resilience, white supremacy, and racial struggle that have shaped national and global movements.

Spring Deep Dish Series: Calling: How are we supposed to “know” what kind of work to do, where to live, who to be? Does our Christian faith offer any resources for the discernment of calling?

Then They Came For Me
We had a private tour of Alphawood Gallery’s “Then They Came For Me,” an original exhibit documenting the Japanese American incarceration on its 75th anniversary.

What does communion have to do with social justice?
We met at McCormick Theological Seminary (5460 S. University Ave) at 6pm for a shared community meal, followed by a keynote. Liberation theologian Claudio Carvalhaes (Associate Professor of Worship, Union Seminary) presented.

Deep Dish
A three-part series where we ate deep dish pizza and we talked about deep things: why we go to church, how to have a full life not consumed by jobs and money, and how to build and maintain friendships.
