Open Kitchen
Once a month, SPR's Open Kitchen crew cooks up the hearty stew to be served at the Feed the People Soup Kitchen, a central part of a decades-old interfaith hunger program in this neighborhood housed at the Kenwood United Church of Christ. About 200 of our neighbors who are hungry are fed at Open Kitchen every week.
You're Invited
Helping at Open Kitchen is an easy way to make a real difference in people's lives. Come on one of the Sundays listed below to help cook. No skills necessary and there will be step-by-step guidance. Cooks of all ages are welcome, though we ask parents to join in to supervise very young children.
Other Ways to Help
Each month, we need shoppers to pick up the ingredients between Friday and the Sunday cook time beforehand and drivers to deliver the stew on Monday morning to Kenwood United Church of Christ at Greenwood and 46th Street.
